🌍 🌿 European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) Takes Flight!
Sustainability enthusiasts, the future just got brighter! The European Commission has recently rolled out the ESRS, urging companies to closely examine their impact on society and the environment. Here’s a snapshot:
– Its goal? To drive improved sustainability performance through enhanced transparency and accountability.
– Supporting the European Green Deal, ESRS promises reliable and consistent data in sync with the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
– Coming on the heels of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) unveiling its criteria, a positive change is undeniable.
– Mark your calendars: By 2025, reporting kicks off for the fiscal year 2024. Initially, 11,500 firms are in the frame, but this number soars to nearly 50,000 by 2026.
The road ahead is promising but challenging. While the new standards mark a significant step in sustainable economic progress, companies must gear up for technical expertise development and ramped-up data reporting.
